The granules for the Catgenie automatic cat toilet are completely non-absorbent. Unlike traditional cat litter, the granules are thoroughly washed out during each cleaning cycle. Their function is to satisfy your cat's need to dig and cover their excrement.

The granules are harmless to both cats and humans and pass easily through the digestive system. Value pack of 6 granule units.

WARNING: CatGenie washable granules are biodegradable in the waste. If you use other plastic granules that are not biodegradable as a replacement for the original CatGenie granules, you may cause clogging of the waste or damage to the toilet. In the event that original granules are not used and the robotic toilet is damaged, the subsequent repair will not be covered by the warranty. All costs associated with the repair are borne by the customer.

The granules decompose in the septic tank in approximately 9 months and in landfills in 2 years. In contrast, most plastics take thousands of years to decompose, and some never decompose.
